Girls are Better Manager then Boys
Kanpur : Prof. Kripa Shankar, Vice Chancellor, Gautam Buddh Technical University, Lucknow will be the chief guest of the 16th Convocation Gaur Hari Shinghania institute. Director Prof. Prithvi Yadav informed that A total of 108 students of 2-Year Full Time Program have become eligible to receive the degree. Out of these, 46 i.e. (43%) students have secured First Division and 62 (57%) students have been placed in the Second Division. the female students have yet again outperformed the male students by having a tally of 25 (54%) first division holders, against 21(46%) of male studnts. The 16th batch has a fairly equal gender balance 51 (47%) female students and 57 (53%) male students.
Elaborating on the position of GHSIMR on international map, he mentioned that the efforts made in previous years have brought very fruitful results. Today, GHSIMR is truly well placed on international platform.
Speaking on the social contribution of GHS-IMR he stated that we are conscious of our obligation to the larger society. As a socially responsible Institution, we have to preserve the excellence of our academic programs at the same sensitize young budding managers toward their role to the society. Our student’s club has been very active in Kanpur Parivartan Forum, Friends for Sight, UP TiE, etc. As part of social responsibility, institute has commitment of adopting a schools in remote areas. This year, it adopted Katri Junior School near Ganga Barrage.
Discussing the events held in the institute in the last year, he commented. Institute has taken another lead role for organising 2 day management fest “KOSMOS” which was fine blend of management games, sports and cultural activities. It was mega success having gathering of more than 30 colleges from Kanpur, Delhi, Lucknow & other cities. The major lime light of the exuberant fest was a musical night by the Singing Sensation KK.
Speaking on the placement of the 16th batch he declared that the placement process has been very good for this year also. A total of 88 offers were made to the 100 students who attended the placement process. The highest salary offered was Rs. 4.8 Lacs per annum and the average salary offered was Rs. 3.3 Lacs per annum .Total 45 companies participated in placement process and out of which 33 companies is first timer. Prominent recruiters were ICICI Securities, Andromeda, Hindustan Media, Berger Paints, Wave Infratech, GRS Softwares, Gati, Threads India, DCM Shriram, etc
